CHICO, California – Less than five months before 23-year-old Angelica Weems of Chico went missing, she had filed a temporary restraining order against her husband Zir Weems alleging domestic violence.

In a letter written to the Butte County Court, Angelica Weems detailed an episode that occurred April 20, 2014 at the couple’s house on West Sacramento Ave. In the letter, Ms. Weems wrote that her husband kicked her in the backside, hit her on the head, pushed her into walls, pointed a gun at her, and later told her to take the gun and “end him.” Ms. Weems wrote that her husband had a bad temper and suffered from mental illness.

TIMBER, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Search and rescue teams continue to scour a wooded area of Columbia County where a bow hunter is believed to have gone missing.

Deputies and volunteers from Columbia County Sheriff’s Office have been looking for the man since Sunday afternoon.

The hunter, who was named as 37-year-old John Hill early Monday morning, last spoke with family members by phone at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. He sounded disoriented, according to family.

SC – Sheriff is asking for help in finding a missing woman Amanda Pinckney | WJCL News

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a missing person in the northern part of the county.

On Sept. 20, 2014 deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to #51 Buckfield Road in Yemassee to a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Tyrone Pinckney advised his wife (Amanda Pickney) left the residence in an unknown direction and she was distraught.

Pinckney said his wife left the area leaving her vehicle and other personal belongings behind. Investigators responded and checked the surrounding area in the woods and nearby residences for several hours resulting in no contact with Mrs. Pinckney.

Iowa State student Tong Shao goes missing

A 20-year-old Iowa State University student has gone missing after she told people she was going to Minnesota to visit friends, police said.

Tong Shao, a junior chemical engineering major was last contacted Sept. 8, while she was in Iowa City, according to a post on the Ames Police Department’s Facebook page. Since then, family and friends have not had contact with Shao and her phone has been disconnected.
