Gordon County Sheriff’s Office authorities say a body believed to be that of a missing Calhoun man has been found.
About 1 a.m. Sunday, deputies found a badly decomposed body in a heavily-wooded area off a field road on a local farm in northwestern Gordon County, according to the press release.
It’s believed to be that of John “Johnny” Wesley Wood Jr., 22, of 373 Baker Road, Calhoun, who was reported missing July 28. Positive identification is pending examination by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab.
