Missing runner Robert Root, who disappeared on a Sierra trail on Sunday, was found “walking and talking” Tuesday afternoon about 21/2 miles from the Michigan Bluff trailhead of the Western States Trail, according the Placer County Sheriff’s Department.

Root, 55, was taken to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, but a press release from the sheriff’s department said he appears to be uninjured and hopes to be released tonight.

Search and rescue teams have returned to a rugged and remote part of Placer County Monday in an attempt to find a missing Modesto trail runner.

Robert Root, 55, went missing on the Western States Trail during a training run Sunday morning near Foresthill.

MODESTO, CALIF. — The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department says a body found in a dairy catch pond in Modesto is believed to be that of a 47-year-old Nicholle Yarnell, who was reported missing by family members on Jan. 16.

A sheriff’s statement says the two dairy workers found the body on Feb. 28.

Deputies looking for missing woman Nichole Yarnell | Crime | Modesto Bee

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is asking for assistance in looking for a woman who went missing on the morning of Jan. 10.

According to authorities, Nicholle Yarnell, 46, last was seen leaving her house in Modesto to go to a store near the intersection of Paradise and Grimes roads.
