As the search ended Tuesday for the 20-year-old Oviedo man who went missing after his mother was found dead in their home, court records emerged detailing his struggle with mental illness, drugs and crime.
Family and friends on Facebook had been pleading for help in finding Joshua Galin Ortiz, possibly the only person who knows what happened to Jacqueline Ortiz. He was found safe in Maryland on Tuesday.
Her husband and his father, Carmelo Ortiz, is a deputy who left the Orange County Sheriff’s Office six months ago. He told Oviedo police last year that his son — an accused gun and car thief — was mentally ill.
