MARSHALL, Mich. (WOOD) — A 14-year-old girl from Marshall who police had been looking for was found Tuesday at an Atlanta-area hotel with a 29-year-old man, police say.
Hannah Amaro was located by authorities at a hotel in Gwinnett County, Ga. around 5:40 p.m., Marshall Police Chief Jim Schwartz said during a press conference just after 6 p.m.
Hannah is currently in the custody of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and will be returned to Michigan soon. She “appears to be OK,” Schwartz said, but will be checked out medically.
“We just want to thank the officers for putting their time into this. They did an amazing job. For the media, for getting this out there, for getting her on TV and spreading the word,” Hannah’s mother Amy Ellis said. “To our family and friends for being here and supporting us. This whole time, this whole entire day they’ve been with us. So we just want to thank you. And we can’t wait to see her.”
