FRUITLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a body found buried in Muskegon County may be that of Bobbie Maples, a woman who has been missing since late 2014.

A tip lead police to the location where the body was buried, Roosevelt Park Police Chief David Boone told 24 Hour News 8. The body was found around 7:30 p.m. Thursday on private property in Fruitland Township. He said investigators are not sure if the property owner had any involvement in the burial of the body.

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich.–A West Michigan family is searching for answers after they say one of their family members disappeared. Bobbie Maples has been missing for nearly two weeks now and her family has no leads.

“I hate to jump to conclusions but I feel that if she’s found I fear that it’s going to be in the worst situation,” said her brother, Daniel Maples.

Maples disappeared on December 15, just 11 days after giving birth to a baby girl.
