Five years after her disappearance, Becker County officials again ask the public for help in the search for Melissa Dawn Eagleshield.

Eagleshield, who was better known by friends and family members as “Mitz,” was last seen in the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at a residence, owned by a male acquaintance of Eagleshield’s, along County Road 126 just south of Island Lake, approximately 15 miles northwest of Detroit Lakes.

October 5th marks 4 years since Melissa Dawn Eagleshield (Anderson) was reported missing from a home near Island Lake, about 15 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office is reminding everyone, especially hunters, to keep an eye out for anything that may lead to Eagleshield’s whereabouts when they go into the woods this fall.

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (Valley News Live) – Authorities are trying to get the word out about a 16-year-old who is reported missing from the Detroit Lakes area.

The group Missing Children Minnesota, and the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, are searching for Trinity Ann Moore. She was last seen leaving work at the Country Kitchen on Highway 10 on November 13.

The mother of missing Detroit Lakes woman Melissa Eagleshield had a hard time of it Monday, as that marked the one year anniversary of the day her daughter went missing.

“I hope they find her soon; I just want this part to be over,” said Linda Anderson, who lives every day not knowing what happened to her 42-year-old daughter.

Family and friends of missing Becker County woman Melissa (Mitz) Eagleshield are offering a reward for information that could bring her home. The 42-year-old was last seen on Sunday, October 5 leaving her Rochert/Detroit Lakes home on foot.

The family is now offering $1,500 to anyone who can provide useful information to the investigation. They say information that leads to the location and/or safe return of Melissa, and the arrest and conviction of a suspect, will be rewarded.

Melissa Eagleshield has been missing since Sunday.

Today, the sheriff’s office enlisted the help of the border patrol’s helicopter to search areas they couldn’t reach on foot.
