Remains identified as missing Oregon woman | KEZI

BEND, Ore. (AP) – A medical examiner has confirmed that remains found in central Oregon last week are those of Sara Gomez, a Bend woman missing since February.

Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel said Wednesday that the cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

OR – Police find blood in home of missing woman’s ex-boyfriend | KATU

BEND, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say officers found bloody ropes, blood puddles and smears of blood when they searched the apartment of an ex-boyfriend of a missing Oregon woman.

The Bend Bulletin reports Bend Police Chief Jim Porter says they are waiting to hear back from the state crime lab on if the blood belongs to Sara Gomez, a Bend woman who was reported missing on Feb. 20.

On Tuesday, Feb. 20 a concerned friend called the Redmond Police to report Gomez hadn’t returned home for a few days. Redmond Police forwarded the information to Bend Police, who, on Feb. 21 identified Bryan Penner, a former boyfriend of Gomez, as a person of interest.

BEND, Ore. – Bend police asked the public Thursday to help them in efforts to find a missing 27-year-old man who hasn’t contacted family or friends since Monday.

Bend Police are looking for a 23-year-old Bend woman last seen just before 1 a.m. near her apartment in Bend, according to Bend Police Lt. Clint Burleigh.

Kaylee Sawyer was last seen in the parking lot of her apartment building near Central Oregon Community College wearing a black dress, brown boots and carrying a green purse, Burleigh wrote in a news release Monday.
