The family of Carlton Lamaar Edmondson will hold a vigil for the missing man Friday on the Historic Burke County Courthouse lawn.
The prayer vigil will be held in candlelight from 6- 7 p.m., said Robert Pearson, Edmondson’s father.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Valdese man after his family said they received phone calls demanding money in the amount of $700 for his return.
On Jan. 19, the Valdese Police Department and Burke County deputies began working on the case after 30-year-old Carlton Lamaar Edmondson’s family said they received a call from a person they didn’t know, claiming he’d been kidnapped.
