Remains found behind Ga. home ID’d as long-missing Iraq War vet Chase Massner – CBS News

KENNESAW, Ga. — Remains found under a concrete slab behind a Georgia home Aug. 1 have been positively identified as long-missing Iraq War veteran Chase Massner, reports CBS affiliate WGCL.

The Cobb County medical examiner made the determination based on dental records obtained from the Department of Defense, Cobb police say.

Remains found where veteran went missing in Kennesaw |

Cobb County police have found remains in the backyard of a Kennesaw residence where a U.S. Army veteran was last seen in March 2014.

While police don’t know if the remains are human, they confirmed the house at 555 Farmbrook Trail was where Charles Massner went to spend the night with a friend more than three years ago, Cobb spokeswoman Officer Alicia Chilton said.

WOODSTOCK, Ga. — Family and friends of a veteran who disappeared more than a year ago are hoping a new search this weekend will reveal clues about what happened to him.

Time has not healed the pain of the family and friends of Chase Massner. The young Iraqi war veteran disappeared without a trace 15 months ago and despite some intense search efforts, few clues have been found.

Still searching for missing vet Chase Massner

WOODSTOCK, Ga. — Saturday, 200 volunteers fanned out to search for a missing father of two, who vanished without a trace three months ago.

Family and Friends gathered at Shiloh Baptist Church, not far from where 26 year old Chase Massner was last seen.

Some helping search had never even met him.

Massner’s wife says he had been suffering from depression after being discharged from the army.

Search continues for missing war veteran Chase Tyler Massner

WOODSTOCK, Ga. — The search continues for a 26-year-old Iraq veteran missing since March 27.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Chase Tyler Massner was last seen at his friend’s house on Farmbrook Lane in Kennesaw. He was reported missing missing on Friday by his wife and mother.
