The vehicle of Jackson County woman Joan Rebar, who disappeared in September 2015, was discovered in a pond on Wednesday, and a body was found inside the vehicle.

Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig said authorities can’t immediately confirm the identification of the body.

Sheriff: Case of Missing Kansas Woman Disturbing, Eerie | Hays Post

MERIDEN, Kan. (AP) — Authorities investigating the year-old disappearance of a 70-year-old northeast Kansas woman are seeking the public’s help.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Joan Rebar was last on Sept. 26, 2015, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Meriden. About 3.5 hours after Rebar was last seen, her phone transmitted its last ping, indicating it was south of Meriden. Her banking activity also ceased.

KS – More than 3 months later, the search for missing Joan Rebar continues

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- The search for a Mayetta woman, missing more than three months, is continuing in Jackson County.

Joan Rebar, 70, went missing Sept. 25. She was last seen in the Meridan area, possibly heading to the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says that a multi-jurisdictional task force of local and state agencies has been assembled to find the missing woman.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is searching for a missing woman in easthern Oklahoma.

According to the OSBI, on Tuesday agents began searching rural McIntosh County on foot, in the air with a drone and with cadaver dogs for 29-year-old Peggy McGuire.

Texas EquuSearch gets new gear to aid mission to find the missing – Houston Chronicle

Tim Miller and the other members of Texas EquuSearch have spent countless hours looking for missing men, women and children, scouring fields and rivers across the state.

Along the way, the group has mapped the guts of Houston’s bayous, locating more than 100 cars. They’ve found the remains of those dumped, drowned and swept away.

On Saturday, standing in the parking lot of a massive church in southeast Harris County, Miller debuted a new tool in that mission, the “Hummingbird lil buddy,” a sonar- and camera-equipped water drone.

Mike Raymond of NorthLand Sky-Cam in Platte City, Missouri, was contacted through a Facebook page to help in the search for Joan Rebar with the use of his drone equipped with a camera and thermal camera.

Drones help Ross County, OH in search for missing women |

BAINBRIDGE, Ohio (WCMH)– Ross County Search and Rescue (SAR) has a new high-tech tool that can be used to look for missing persons, help in rescues and find evidence from a crime.

The $2,500 needed to buy this high-tech drone was donated to the SAR by MedFlight in a pilot program.

Mike Menendez is the Chief for Franklin Township Fire and Commander of the Ross County Search and Rescue, he is also the operator of the state-of-art drone.

The drone has been used in the search for evidence in the six missing and dead Ross County woman. But nothing related to that case has been found so far.

“If there is white clothing, white shoes I am going to spot that,” said Menendez.

HURST A 72-year-old Hurst woman who has been missing for more than a month packed clothes and personal items in a suitcase about the same time she left home, her husband’s attorney said Tuesday.

Police have been investigating the disappearance of Norma Shultz since her husband, 73, reported her missing on May 25.

He told police she walked away from home on May 24, Hurst police Sgt. Craig Teague said.
