Franklin Payne, 56, was last seen Sept. 22 in Cleveland. His family says he was supposed to take the bus home but never showed.

LACEY’S SPRING, Ala. (WAAY) – The Morgan County Sheriff says preliminary reports indicate a body found earlier Wednesday in Lacey’s Spring is that of a missing man.

Franklin Payne was reported missing on December 10th. The 74-year-old wandered away from his home.

Resident says he may have given missing man Franklin Payne a ride – Decatur Daily: Local News

LACEY’S SPRING — A man told authorities Thursday he may have given a ride to a missing Lacey’s Spring resident on or about the same day he was reported missing.

Also, Sgt. Chad Smith, an investigator with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, said the two Shih Tzu dogs Franklin Payne had with him the day he disappeared returned home in good shape a week ago Friday.

Payne, 74, who suffers from dementia, apparently wandered from his home on Pine Hill Circle in the Dry Creek Cove area about 1 a.m. Dec. 10.

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Law enforcement teams are looking for a missing man in the Lacey’s Spring area. Franklin Payne is 74 years old and has dementia, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Payne is 5’10″ and weighs about 175 pounds. He has white hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. He is believed to be wearing black pants, a black jacket, a dark-colored t-shirt and black shoes. He may also have two dogs with him, black and white Shih Tzus.
