Nick Steward, missing Lake Villa man, body believed found in Vernon Hills, state’s atty says |


October 4, 2013 (VERNON HILLS, Ill.) (WLS) — The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office says a body found Thursday night in Vernon Hills is believed to be that of missing Lake Villa man Nick Steward.

Authorities announced Firday morning that a body was found around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in a densely wooded area about 3/4 of a mile southeast of the area where Steward’s car was found. The identity of the body and the cause of death are still pending.

Police search for missing Lake Villa man Nicholas Steward – Lake County News-Sun

Lake Villa Police put out a missing person notice for Nicholas Steward, 33, this weekend after he failed to return home from work on Friday, Sept. 20.

Police said he was last seen driving a white 2008 Saturn with the license plate 563-7543. The Illinois Tollway Authority told police the vehicle did go through the northbound Touhy Avenue Toll Plaza northbound on I-294 at 5:30 p.m., and he also had a telephone conversation with his employer at about the same time.
