The New York Police Department and BBDO New York are taking the search for missing persons beyond the milk carton. In a project called “Invisible Faces,” the face of a boy who disappeared six years ago will now appear on a store window mannequin in an effort to reinvigorate the search and possibly lead to his return. BBDO created the concept, and worked with the NYPD to execute it.

NYPD conducts missing child drill in Mariners Harbor (with photos) | SILive.com

STATEN ISLAND- The NYPD conducted a joint mobilization exercise to find a missing child at the Mariners Harbor Houses Friday night, according to Det. Mary Kelly.

Police officers from the 121 Precinct, auxiliary officers from all four precincts, emergency responders and a team of civilians participated in the hour-long drill, Kelly said.

Body of missing toddler found in park lake | New York Post

The body of a 2-year-old girl who went missing near the Prospect Park boathouse was pulled out of the water by police divers Saturday afternoon.

Cops say Ruhshona Kurbonova and her 4-year-old brother were near the lake when they got separated from their mother, who collapsed in grief when the child was found dead.

Police had received a call at 1:19 p.m. about the missing girl.

Police search for missing toddler in NYC park | New York Post

Police are searching for a 2-year-old girl who went missing near the Prospect Park boathouse Saturday afternoon.

Cops say the girl and her 4-year-old brother were near the lake when they lost their mother. Police received a call at 1:19 p.m. about the missing girl.

Two NYPD divers were searching the lake while officers taped off the scene. A search helicopter hovered above the trees to push away the lake’s algae to rescuers see into the water.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If Jane were a 14-month-old baby girl who was lost somewhere in New Brighton, she would have been found, safe and sound, in about 20 minutes.

Jane, it turns out, is an inanimate piece of plastic.

But that didn’t stop more than 60 searchers, police officers and civilians alike, from fanning out around the Richmond Terrace Houses last week as part of a “missing child” drill run by the NYPD.

The drill, which took place on Wednesday night, is the second such operation launched by NYPD brass on Staten Island. On May 21, a similar scene played out at the Berry Houses complex in Dongan Hills.
