A California man abducted last month remains missing, as the FBI searches for clues and three suspects who demanded a $2 million in ransom, reports said.

Ruochen “Tony” Liao, 28, was kidnapped July 16 in a San Gabriel shopping plaza, about 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, FBI officials said.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Valdese man after his family said they received phone calls demanding money in the amount of $700 for his return.

On Jan. 19, the Valdese Police Department and Burke County deputies began working on the case after 30-year-old Carlton Lamaar Edmondson’s family said they received a call from a person they didn’t know, claiming he’d been kidnapped.

A 29-year-old woman was kidnapped and is possibly being held for ransom, police said.

Vallejo police Lt. Kenny Park said officers were notified by an unnamed man that Denise Huskins was abducted from Mare Island in Vallejo, the San Francisco Chronicle reports ( Tuesday. Police originally said she is 30.

It was not clear why the man, whom police did not name, waited to alert police.

P.I.: Missing Doctor Hugues Bellevue May Be a Kidnap Victim | NBC 7 San Diego

A Chula Vista physician who has been missing for at least two weeks may be the victim of a kidnap for ransom crime, according to a private investigator hired by the man’s family.

Hugues Bellevue, M.D., 59, was last seen in early November, according to police. Bellevue owns the Saint Marc Hospital in Playas de Tijuana in Mexico, but lives on McCloud River Road in Chula Vista.
