NEWARK — The body of a Palo Alto woman last seen more than five weeks ago was discovered Sunday afternoon in a silver Mercedes-Benz that was covered in heavy brush off Highway 84 near the Dumbarton Bridge, authorities said.

The woman, Wamaitha Kaboga-Miller, 66, was last seen Aug. 17 at an East Palo Alto grocery store and was reported missing by her family the next day.

Family of missing woman offers $25K reward | Palo Alto Online

The family of Wamaitha Kaboga-Miller, a Palo Alto woman who went missing nearly four weeks ago, is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts, police said Wednesday.

Kaboga-Miller, 66, went missing on Aug. 17. She was last seen on surveillance video making a purchase at Country Time Market on University Avenue in East Palo Alto before driving east toward the Dumbarton Bridge. She takes numerous prescription medications but left those at home, according to the police.

Family and friends of Wamaitha Kaboga-Miller are organizing a second search party for the missing Palo Alto woman this Saturday, Sept. 1, her daughter-in-law Sophia Kaboga-Miller said.

The search party will meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot at Target, 2485 El Camino Real, Redwood City.

REDWOOD CITY (BCN) — Redwood City police are searching this evening for a missing man thought to be at risk because he has dementia, according to Redwood City police Lt. Sean Hart.

Richard Adams, 58, is described as a 58-year-old black man, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds wearing a gray sweater, blue pants and a blue hat, Hart said.

The California Highway Patrol has issued a missing person alert this morning for James Mengel.

Mengel was last scene Wednesday leaving for midnight Mass. He is described as a white man, 77 years old, 195 pounds, 5 feet 9 inches tall with gray hair and brown eyebrows. He was wearing a silver jacket, red dress shirt and blue jeans.
