San Andreas, CA — Calaveras sheriff’s officials are asking the public to be on the lookout for a missing 15-year-old girl who may have gotten into a vehicle at a Murphys gas station.

Missing since Sunday night is Samantha Roberts of Valley Springs. Calaveras County sheriff’s officials report that their office took a report Monday afternoon, adding that she was last seen at her residence in the 8000 block of Baldwin Street the evening before at around 9 o’clock and that a backpack and some of her clothing were also missing.

Missing man Joshua Thiede found at LA hospital, friends say | ABC 7

LOS ANGELES — Joshua Thiede, an Uber and Lyft driver who had been reported missing for more than a week, was found Monday night at a Los Angeles hospital, his friends said.

Thiede was last seen around 11:30 a.m. Feb. 11 in the 1000 block of Wilshire Boulevard in the city. He had not been seen or heard from since then. On Feb. 12, his mother said a 911 hang-up call had been made from his phone. Two pings showed his last known whereabouts were in the Pico-Union area.

Uber announced a partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) Tuesday, by notifying all driver-partners when an Amber Alert is issued.

The Amber Alert system is a voluntary program between law enforcement and media sources that “activates an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases.” The system is designed to bring home children safely by recruiting the public to aid in search efforts through TV, radio, phone, and other announcements.

“The Uber network covers 75 percent of the US population,” Uber wrote in a press release Tuesday. “We are proud to harness this reach to support the Amber Alert program, and to quickly connect drivers with information that could make all the difference for neighbors and communities.”
