CLARKSBURG, Mass. — The human remains discovered in Hatfield on Tuesday have been identified as those of Joanne Ringer, who went missing almost exactly a year ago.

Ringer, 39, was last seen at her home on Hall’s Ground in Clarksburg on March 2, but never showed up at her new job driving a taxi in Easthampton. Her green 1999 Volkswagen Jetta was discovered on Exeter Street in Easthampton four days later.

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa — An Iowa man missing for more than a day had been texting his family from what he said was the trunk of his car.

Michael David Graham, 37, of Coralville, Iowa, sent texts saying he was forced into the trunk of his black Volkswagen Jetta while working in a commercial building here, about 100 miles east of Des Moines, according to a North Liberty Police Department news release.

He was expecting his wife, Joanne “Jo” Ringer, to arrive soon from her first shift driving a taxi overnight in Easthampton, so he started making her favorite breakfast: eggs, corned beef hash, toast and bacon.

But Ringer never came home and hasn’t been heard from since. Reidy still finds himself looking out the window, hoping to see his wife coming up the unpaved road that dead-ends at their house in this northern Berkshire County town on the Vermont line.

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A car belonging to a missing woman from Berkshire County was found in Easthampton more than a week ago.

On Wednesday, Fred Lantz, spokesperson for the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office, told 22News that the dark green 2011 Volkswagen Jetta belonging to Joanne Ringer was found in Easthampton on March 6.
